Leeds Rhinos' dismal Super League campaign continued as they were well beaten at home by Castleford Tigers on Thursday.

Crisis continues for Rhinos as Tigers romp to victory

Jesse Sene-Lefao scored two tries as Castleford Tigers piled more misery on the beleaguered Leeds Rhinos with a dominant 30-8 win at Headingley in Super League.

The Rhinos sacked head coach David Furner last week before suffering a humiliating Challenge Cup defeat at the hands of second-tier Bradford Bulls in their first game under interim boss Richard Agar.

There was further pain for Leeds, who sit 10th in the table with just four wins from 15 games, on Thursday as the grand opening of the new North Stand at Headingley was followed by a comfortable and much-needed triumph for the Tigers.

Daryl Powell's men came into the match having lost four in a row but converted tries from Sene-Lefao and Greg Eden gave them a 10-point advantage at the break, the latter scoring from Jake Trueman's glorious cut-out pass after he had been the victim of a dangerous tackle that saw Rhinos captain Kallum Watkins sin-binned.

Sene-Lefao capitalised on weak defending for a second time to extend the Tigers' lead early in the second half and, although Matt Parcell went over to give Leeds a lifeline, it was not long before Castleford put the result beyond doubt through further tries from James Clare and the impressive Trueman.

Prior to the game, Rhinos director of rugby Kevin Sinfield told Sky Sports he had considered his own position, before indicating the club are in no rush to appoint a permanent head coach in place of Agar.

"I've been inundated with approaches. At this stage, I'm 100 per cent behind Richard," said Sinfield. "Everybody who has tried to make contact has been told the same thing, we're right behind Richard. This club needs a period of stability."
