Catalans crush Warriors at Camp Nou in front of record crowd

Catalans Dragons put on a show for a record Super League crowd as they ran in five tries in a 33-16 win over Wigan Warriors in front of 31,555 spectators at Camp Nou.

A record crowd for a single regular-season Super League game witnessed the Dragons pull away in the second half, with David Mead crossing twice in Barcelona.

Former Warriors hooker Michael McIlorum was the first to go over for Catalans, who led 8-6 at the break after Liam Marshall's try on the stroke of half-time reduced the deficit.

Wigan thought they were ahead when Marshall dotted down again early in the second half, but replays showed his foot was on the line before he went in, and three tries in six minutes, from Mead, Samisoni Langi and Sam Kasiano, took the game away from Warriors.

Mead capitalised on a loose pass to run half the length of the pitch and add a fifth Catalans try before Oliver Gildart and Zak Hardaker added late consolations.

Warrington Wolves' four-game winning streak in all competitions was ended by Hull FC, who moved into the top four with a 19-12 success at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Mickey Paea, Scott Taylor and Albert Kelly all went over in eight first-half minutes as Warrington failed to reduce the six-point gap between themselves and leaders St Helens.

Jordan Abdull grabbed four tries as bottom-of-the-table London Broncos came out on top 42-34 in a high-scoring affair with Wakefield Trinity.

Rhys Williams and Kieran Dixon both crossed twice for the Broncos, while David Fifita and Mason Caton-Brown claimed braces for Wakefield.
