Brisbane Broncos have suspended James Segeyaro for one game following a drink-driving offence.
The Papua New Guinea international was issued with a notice to appear for driving under the influence of alcohol on Monday, with his club subsequently imposing a ban that was signed off by the NRL's Integrity Unit.
Segeyaro, who met with Integrity Unit head Karyn Murphy in Sydney to apologise in person for his actions, will sit out Brisbane's round 13 fixture against Gold Coast Titans, which takes place on June 9.
The hooker will also be required to attend a traffic offenders course at his own expense, plus participate in 40 hours of community service outside of his mandatory club commitments.
"James knows he did the wrong thing and we trust that he will learn from his error in judgement," Broncos CEO Paul White said in a statement on the club's website.
Brisbane signed Segeyaro in May after he was released by Cronulla Sharks due to salary cap constraints.
He has played twice this season, scoring a try on debut against Sydney Roosters in round 10.
