St Helens have only lost three games all year in Super League, but two of those defeats have come at London Broncos.

Broncos boost Super League survival hopes by shocking Saints again

London Broncos gave their Super League survival hopes a welcome shot in the arm by inflicting another shock defeat on table-topping St Helens.

Runaway leaders Saints have only lost three of their 23 league games in 2019, but two of those have remarkably come against the rock-bottom Broncos.

On their last visit to Trailfinders Sports Club in June, St Helens lost by a solitary point. This time around, with a host of players rested by head coach Justin Holbrook, they were thumped 32-12 as London claimed a valuable win to move level on points with Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos.

Matthew Fleming scored two of the Broncos' five tries, while Matthew Gee, Alex Walker and Luke Yates also went over for the hosts, offsetting scores from Danny Richardson and Aaron Smith.

Leeds, meanwhile, suffered a major blow as Hull FC triumphed 26-24 to record their first win at Headingley since 2007.

The Rhinos came roaring back from 20-6 down to lead through Tom Briscoe's 66th-minute try, but Ratu Naulago responded swiftly for Hull and Marc Sneyd landed a touchline conversion to seal victory.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Salford Red Devils hammered Catalans Dragons 40-14 while Castleford Tigers climbed above the French side into fifth courtesy of a 27-18 win over second-placed Warrington Wolves.
