SAIFUDDIN EYEING TO BOWL UNDER EIGHT RUNS IN T20

Bangladesh pace bowler Mohammad Saifuddin said on Friday that he working on his economy rate in Twenty20 cricket.

Saifuddin had been a revelation in the recent past as he is turning out to be one of the most consistent pace bowlers in white-ball cricket for the Tigers.

Currently he is averaging over eight runs in the ongoing tri-nation and according to the young bowler he is trying to bring it down below eight runs per over.

My economy rate was not so good in the past and before I started the series I think that my economy was almost 12 runs per over,’’ Saifuddin told reporters at the Airport after arriving from the port city on Sunday,

I was thinking how to better my economy rate like a quality bowler because I have a long international career ahead,’’ he said.

‘’Keeping the wicket in mind, I will try to keep the economy below eight. I am trying my best and so far it has been good,’’ he said.

Saifuddin added that their win against Afghanistan will help them have an edge over their opponent as they picked the momentum at the right time.

Bangladesh earned the victory against Afghanistan for the first time in five years in a T20 international and after they were embarrassed for four times in previous four occasion.

Afghanistan also beat in the lone Test match that was played before the tri-nation involving Zimbabwe as the other team in the competition.

Yes of course [the win is inspirational] because we have lost against them in Chittagong and then in Mirpur (T20), so before going into the final, we needed something inspiration,’’ he said.

‘’I think this match will prove helpful for us to win in the final,’’ he said.

‘’Yeah, the statistics (of win and defeat against Afghanistan) was 4-1, maybe because they play T20 in different formats like they play in different franchise based T20 tournament,’’ he said.

‘’We have already played them before and now we will solve the lacking, we have discussed with the coach, captain and everyone about our lacking,’’ he concluded.
