Cubs closer Brandon Morrow is likely to miss even more time.
According to ESPN, Morrow underwent minor surgery on his elbow last month and may have to miss some games to start the 2019 season.

"This was a cleanup of some cartilage, done arthroscopically," Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said Thursday.
He added: "Doing well. Progressing without limitations."
Morrow was limited to 35 games in 2018 as he dealt with back and arm injuries.
He tallied 22 saves with a 1.47 ERA.
According to ESPN, the Cubs may now be more active in the free-agent market for relievers.
The report says Chicago has shown some interest in Yankees reliever Zach Britton, but nothing is imminent.
Kapler said Arrieta's "comments are true" after the pitcher said the Phillies "need to have an accountability check."
The Indians have to pay Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez in the coming seasons, but to do that they may have to part ways with some vets.
The Phillies and Padres both have had reported interest in Moustakas as a backup plan.
Britton has recorded four saves and holds a 3.45 ERA in 15 2/3 innings on the mound this season.
The report says the Yankees and Rockies have likely already discussed a deal for the third baseman who will be a free agent in 2020.
