Wade Miley walked Cody Bellinger to lead off the game and then manager Craig Counsell took him out.

MLB postseason 2018: Brewers remove Wade Miley after one batter, will reportedly start Game 6

Brewers starting pitcher Wade Miley's day was very short Wednesday.

Miley walked left-handed hitting Cody Bellinger to start the game and was immediately removed by manager Craig Counsell. He was replaced by reliever Brandon Woodruff .

The Athletic reported Milwaukee plans to start Miley in Game 6.

The Dodgers started six right-handed hitters to oppose Miley in Game 5. Joc Pederson and Yasmani Grandal were left out of the lineup by manager Dave Roberts.

Woodruff gave up one base runner after Miley was removed but escaped the inning without allowing a run.

Miley is the second pitcher in postseason history to start a game and face one batter, according to Baseball Reference. Johnny Cueto also did so in Game 1 of the 2012 NLDS.
