The Mets know their price for Noah Syndergaard.
According to The Athletic, which cited unidentified sources, New York isn't looking for long-term investment prospects in a trade for right-hander.
The Mets are instead seeking a deal that will center around players who can make a difference next season and beyond.
Syndergaard is eligible to become a free agent in 2022 and Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom can't hit the market until 2021, though teams are showing interest in the 26-year-old nicknamed "Thor" as the Mets turn their focus to the future.
Syndergaard finished last season with a 13-4 record in 25 starts and a 3.03 ERA through 154 1/3 innings after missing almost the entire 2017 season with a torn lat muscle in his throwing arm.
The Mets ended their 2018 campaign with a 77-85 record and fourth-place finish in the NL East.
