Allen reportedly is looking for the opportunity to close next season.

MLB hot stove: Angels, Cody Allen finalize 1-year deal

The Angels and Cody Allen have finalized a one-year deal, potentially giving Los Angeles a new closer.

The Athletic reported last week that Allen reportedly is looking for the opportunity to close this season and Los Angeles has an opening for its closer role. Blake Parker signed with the Twins in free agency and Keynan Middleton recently had Tommy John surgery.

Allen went 4-6 with a 4.70 ERA and 27 saves for the Indians last season.

It was his first season in his last six in which he posted an ERA above 3.00. He has averaged 29.4 saves a year over the last five seasons
