The #Yankees have reached agreement on minor-league deal with starter Gio Gonzalez that will pay him $3 million if he reaches the big leagues, as @JonHeyman first reported. Gonzalez won't be ready for start of the season, but has an April 20 opt-out, per @Ken_Rosenthal

Gonzalez was sent from the Nationals to the Brewers in August. He registered a 10-11 record and a 4.21 ERA in 32 total starts last season.
The two-time All-Star also has pitched for the A’s during his 11-year career.
The Yankees were in need of a starter after Luis Severino suffered a shoulder injury that will likely keep him out until at least May. CC Sabathia also may not be ready for opening day.
