MLB trade rumors: Indians prepared to listen to offers for Corey Kluber, other vets

The Indians are prepared to listen to offers for veterans like two-time Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber and right-hander Carlos Carrasco, according to ESPN.

Cleveland is coming off of its third straight American League Central title, but the Indians have been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs two years in a row and attendance was among the worst in MLB this season. Because of this the Indians will have to make some critical decisions to their roster as Kluber and Carrasco may reportedly come available.

The Indians also could part with Edwin Encarnacion, Jason Kipnis and Yan Gomes.

While revenue is down in Cleveland, as much or more of the reason for the possible moves has to do with the roster the team already has in place. The Indians reportedly want to keep Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez, and to do so will likely cost the team more than a combined $200 million.

Cleveland also may have to part ways with free agents Michael Brantley, Cody Allen and Andrew Miller.

The Indians had the option to, but did not extend qualifying offers to those players this week.
